Victory in the cup final!

Last night the year 10 netballers played their final for the league cup at Kings High. The final was due to take place next week but because of the house trip Kings High agreed to bring the match forward.

The girls started off with a great start seeing Charlotte popping in the first shot of the game. For the first few minutes the game was going goal for goal and we thought we were in for a close, well fought match. Southam managed to sneak ahead in the last few minutes of the quarter thanks to key intercepts from Evie and Phoebe H.

In the second and third quarter Southam stretched their lead as Rosa and Phoebe H started to find it easy to feed Phoebe and Charlotte.

The final quarter saw Eva, Isla and Evie make crucial interceptions seeing Southam extend the lead further. The final score saw Southam win 23-8.

I can safely say it is one of the best games of netball I have seen the girls play. There was individual brilliance, team spirit and positive attitudes across the court. It was fantastic to see such great support from the parents, grandparents and siblings this evening, I feel it helped lift the girls performance to the next level. The girls have come a long was from losing out last year in the semi-finals. You should be extremely proud of your performance this evening.

I am so impressed with your performance this evening, well done a well deserved win!
