Southam College are pleased to present World Inclusivity Week 2021

On Thursday afternoon the Y8 students had their first opportunity to represent the college as part of the Football programme.
It is unfortunate that their debut game saw them come up against possibly the strongest year group at NLS, who’s team was packed with academy players from 1-11.Battling into the wind in the first half saw Southam struggle to cope with the high press of the NLS attackers and unfortunately, lapses in concentration were capitalised upon as NLS raced into an early 3 goal lead. Captain Jamie M was imperious at the back and regularly won possession and cleared pressure in an attempt to gain a foothold on the game.
In order to improve, players will need to give up their time on Monday evenings and attend after school practice. It is only here that we can develop as a team and move forward with our fixtures pre and post Christmas.
Final Score – NLS 9 – 0 Southam
Mr Lowdon
No Rugby training tonight due to all staff being involved in Football fixtures.
Congratulations to everyone who competed for their house in the Cross-country Championships. It was fantastic to see so many students brave the wet and windy conditions and there were many great performances. Results are being collated and will be announced soon, but well done once again to all those who took part!

Year 8 travelled to Kings High for the first game of the season with the squad consisting of Aiofe, Charlotte, Rosa, Phoebe H, Hannah, Eva, Sienna, Phoebe B and Scarlett. The girls started with excellent shooting and defensive pressure in the first quarter with the score being 3-2 to Kings High . Unfortunately in the following quarters Kings High increased their lead however I was really pleased with Southam for playing their own game with lots of great passing and dodging. The final score was 19-6 to Kings High.
Well done to Phoebe B for receiving ‘player’ from KHS and well done to all the girls. Proud of you all!
