Year 9 Rugby

Southam vs Kenilworth

The year 9 Rugby team played their first home fixture and their second fixture after suffering a tough loss against Lawrence Sheriff last week, the team were buzzing to get their year 9 campaign back on track. Southam started as they meant to go on as they were applying pressure throughout the whole first half which was rewarded with a try and a conversion to go into halftime 7-0 up. Kenilworth battled hard but could not stop Southam’s pressure who managed to continue to score tries into the second half including impressive tries from Cory M, Jamie M and Tom O. The game finished 31-7 in an impressive victory. Southam’s attitude was brilliant the whole game and both teams gave each other guards of honour as signs of respect. The team spirit from our year 9 Rugby team was clear throughout. From our captain, Joe C to the last member of the squad, everyone in the team gives their all for each other right to the final whistle which is great to see. Southam hope to make it two on the bounce as they travel to Fairfax for their first Saturday morning fixture of the year after half-term. Watch this space!
