On Wednesday evening the Y8 Rugby travelled the short distance to Southam RFC to host Princethorpe.
In cold and blustery conditions Princethorpe raced into a 30-0 and the Southam boys were shell shocked. Some honest words were had at half time and the Green and Blacks were reinvigorated. 4 quick trys from Hugh, Jacob x2 and Joe C were reward for some quality rugby at the start of the 2nd half. At this point Princethorpe were on the ropes as Southam played the best rugby of the night. The forwards carried well and secured quality ball for the elusive Southam backline to utilise. Unfortunately the strength of the Princethorpe bench allowed them to bring on fresh legs and they began to gain ball whilst playing down the slope, scoring 2 further trys.
Final score Southam 25 – 40 Princethorpe
Great effort boys, you showed what you are capable of when you play as a solid unit.
